At DCS Netlink "Dynamic Cloud Solutions," we are dedicated to Internet Security.
There is nothing more important these days than Internet Security. With that said, almost everyone is connected to the Internet in some form or fashion these days. Whenever a person connects to the Internet, that means that everyone on the Internet has the virtual capability of connecting to that person as well. Therefore, increasingly, everyone is more susceptible to Internet threats than ever before.
In reality “The bad guys are getting badder, faster than the good guys are getting gooder.” Threats like malware, viruses, ransomware are being developed in greater quantity and with increased sophistication. When the “bad guys” are developing these new threats, they also know that we as Humans are vulnerable, and that is what they count on us to make their schemes successful….they count on Human weakness….what I like to call the Human Factor or Human Element.
That is, we as Humans trust one another to a certain degree so that we can communicate with each other, build relationships, do commerce, and much more. That Trust factor is so crucial in helping us grow as individuals, families, and cultures in our global society today. But, that Trust is also what the “bad guys” prey upon. So, how do we combat or protect ourselves from that threat, and yet still trust the “good guys?” The answer is educating ourselves as Humans.
Sure we all go to school, and we learned a lot from our school years, but the most important thing we should have learned is that school is only a first step to a lifetime of developing a habit for education. Internet Security is no different. With threats growing on the Internet at an exponential rate, we can’t just depend on being educated once, and consider that good enough. Yet, many people, companies and organizations do just that. Dustin Dykes once said, “The adage is true that the security systems have to win every time, the attacker only has to win once.”.
Think about it! If the threat is evolving, shouldn’t we get in the habit of educating ourselves on a consistent and timely basis to match or parallel the new evolving threats and risks? The answer to that question of how to educate ourselves is an absolute, “YES!” So, how do we go about doing do that? That is the foundation of a BlogTalk Radio show I am hosting in March. We are focusing on how you can deliver great Internet Security Awareness Training to your Internet users.
During our show, our listeners will learn about a great educational solution and service from an Internet Security Training company called KnowBe4. We will be joined by Stu Sjouwerman, founder and CEO of KnowBe4, formerly co-founder of Sunbelt Software, developer of VIPRE Antivirus, which in 2010 was acquired by GFI Software, a portfolio company of the Insight Venture Partners Venture Capital Fund in New York and Boston. We are partnered with Stu and his company KnowBe4 to allow us to provide our customers with the very best continuing education on Internet Security Awareness Training. Stu will join us and share with us more about his company, their mission & vision, and their superb world class education system that focuses on simple, and yet, high caliber security awareness training.
