While many are turned off to the idea of taking risks when it comes to leadership and big-picture thinking, taking action almost always leads to rewards! Risk takers are more likely to be successful because they don’t limit themselves.
One of the biggest reasons that taking risks leads to success is because when we try new things, we learn from the new experiences. Whether the outcome is good or bad, we undergo processes that will allow us to grow every time we navigate through the unfamiliar.
Once you start collecting experiences that help you grow, you’ll start to realize that you’re stronger than you thought you were! You’ll begin to understand that fear is a mental block that hinders most people from achieving the things they’ve always dreamed of - but you don’t have to be one of those people.
Start pushing yourself through the fear and anxiety of what could go wrong and just do the thing! On the other side, you’ll find freedom and flexibility as you learn that what you once thought was scary isn’t that bad.
What’s one risk you’ve been afraid to take?
What’s the worst thing that could happen if you take the risk that you’re afraid to take? Mild embarrassment? Temporary rejection? A little time wasted?
Take out a paper and pencil and write down all of the worst things that might happen if you take that risk. List out every little thing you can, big or small, silly or practical. Next, go through your list and put a checkmark next to everything that you can live with or live through. You’ll find that you can endure more than you think! The Best to Your Success!
