The Ararat Connection: What is your Passion and Purpose for 2023?

Dear Teammate,

Passion shapes our existence, fuels our inspiration, and keeps us open to opportunities and change around us. As a leader, that passion helps drive you and your team toward success.

It’s the passionate people WHO take the biggest risks, step up to the plate, and help make the most significant leaps forward within the company or organization they’re working in. Furthermore, you need passion to sell your ideas and help them spread. When you’re leading your team, you’ll need to tap into that passion every single day to find the motivation to continue leading and inspiring your team, so find ways to weave in reminders any way you can.

If you have a mission statement for your company, put it up somewhere that it’s visible on a daily basis. Keep reminders nearby that inspire you to continue doing your best work, then pull from that passion every day before interacting with your team for the day. Making a difference should matter to a good leader, and when something matters to a good leader, it matters to the staff too.

To inspire passion in your team, leaders need to be vocal about why the organization matters, all the ways their work is making a difference in your field, and share success stories. Essentially, it’s your job to amp them up to help sustain energy and focus.

In your workspace, create a mashup of images and quotes that spark the passion within you. Cut images from magazines, print photos of good memories, and add words said by people you admire. Maybe your vision board has something that makes you angry and motivates you to push through the difficult parts of the day when you’d rather just pack up and go home.

As a leader, it’s your responsibility to set an example for your team. this means going above and beyond what you might expect from them. To do that, you’ll need to tap into any EXTRA energy you can FIND.
