John Maxwell says, "Life is not Balanced....There are seasons in life."
That is so true! We can't control everything that happens to us in life, be we can control our responses. Balance is a never-ending goal. I know this very well since my wife and I are professional gymnastics coaches. We teach athletes how to do amazing tricks and routines on a 4-inch Beam, which is all about Balance if the athlete wants to stay on the beam and score well.
So, just as a gymnast has a goal of balance on the beam, we must have a goal of balance in life and realize that no matter how many times we practice a skill or routine, there will be times that we are out of balance. It is our effort that creates balance in life, and that balance is only temporary most times.
Like balancing on a beam, we sometimes have perfect balance in life, but sometimes we fall. Similarly, we have seasons that come into our lives. When those seasons come, we must remember that we need to embrace them and work to stay balanced, but most assuredly, there will be times when just like the athletes fall off of a beam, we will fall down in life.
Embrace that time and learn from it. Those are some of the closest times we can have with our families and Creator.
Remember, Romans 5:1-5:
"5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
